An autoscrubber cleaning polished concrete floor

Polished concrete floors are extremely durable and provide a classy finish. To keep them pristine and gleaming, some specific maintenance practices and products are recommended.

Care;

  • Daily Dry Dust Mopping: This is crucial to remove dirt and debris, which can act like an abrasive and dull the floor's shine over time.

  • Auto-Scrubbing (or Mopping): Depending on the amount and type of traffic your floor sees, cleaning the floor daily or 2X/week using an auto-scrubber (or mop in hard-to-reach areas) equipped with an Ameripolish SmartFloor™ Blue Daily Maintenance Pad and Ameripolish™ Rejuvenating Cleaner is a great practice. This cleaner is designed to reinforce the sealer and extend the floor's life without harsh chemicals.

  • Immediate Spill Cleanup: Clean up spills immediately with clean water or a ph-neutral cleaner to prevent staining or etching.

  • Avoid Harsh Products and Tools:

    • DO NOT allow excessive water or liquid to sit on the surface.

    • DO NOT use acidic or caustic cleaning products, as these can etch the concrete.

    • DO NOT use steel wool, diamond impregnated pads, nylon brushes, or brushes of any kind on the polished surface for daily cleaning.

    • DO NOT apply wax or topical coatings, as these can deteriorate the polished concrete over time.

  • Reapply Stain Protection (as needed): We recommend reapplying another coat of penetrating stain protection as needed, which can be determined by a "water-test."

  • Restoration (when needed): For dull, worn, or etched areas, Patriot Floor Coatings can bring the floor back to its original aesthetic.
